Vacations - No Place Like Home (song)

 

Vacations new album "No Place Like Home" was released on January 12th 2024 on No Fun Records.  You may have heard their initial song "Next Exit" on Tik Tok and YouTube Short videos, according to my son.  It's popular with the young ones and their social media.  Awesome!

When the album was released, it hit me like a ton of bricks and I will try my best to explain how and why per song post.  I walled myself out of society and haven't vented since I left my ex-wife in 2011.  So much music has been listened to and felt since that day 13 years ago.

The song "No Place Like Home" track #5 on the album is going to be a tough one to talk about, so let's do it!

When I find a song that hits every emotion of what I went through with leaving my 1-year-old son in 2011, I usually click repeat and absorb and feel every aspect of the song.  I feel this song was made for me to finally hear and let go of all the guilt through these years of divorce.  Wanting a son your whole life and then leaving him is not something that was on my life card.  The black are the lyrics, the red is what I feel.

Quite the song eh? Sheeeeeesh.  I find it perfect to heal from trauma to face those fears and feel.  Usually if I had heard this song before, the tears and memories would trigger and would feel it all over again.  But this new medicine is helping me break out of the Buried Echo chamber.  Thanks for reading my spiel.  More songs from this album will be added.
